In the years 1975-1998 the town belonged to Wroclaw province .
Name of the village Cerekwica shows that the church existed here already in the early Middle Ages ( XI / XII century). Presumably he was wooden , built in the fifteenth century brick church . March 12, 1262 , Prince Henry III White issued a permit for the location Cerekwica on the Magdeburg Law .
